Three days, five plays, two stages and a great many artists.

They say Greek plays travel less than the Greeks themselves. This year we are bringing them to Berlin, and giving the writers themselves the floor. Texts from Greece and Cyprus, and their playwrights in open conversation with the audience.

The first Greek Theater Festival Berlin opens its doors at the Greek Embassy in Berlin and continues at tak Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg, bringing contemporary Greek and Cypriot theater where it belongs: in front of an audience.

The performances are in Greek, with Greek and German surtitles. In addition, selected performances will offer subtitles adapted for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences, audio description and tactile tours for audiences with visual disabilities, and interpretation in Greek Sign Language. Because theater is for everyone.

The programme includes performances, conversations with the playwrights, workshops, networking for artists, and music and visual art events. Three days to meet, to share and to get to know one another.
